Positions Open to all ISM-CB members
ISM-CB will have several leadership positions available for the 2016-17’ calendar year. Participating in a leadership on the board is not only a great way to expand your knowledge of the operations of our local association, but also to further network with purchasing professionals in our geography. The idea of an additional commitment can be a little scary with our busy lives and schedules, but in reality most of the time, the commitment is limited to a single meeting for an hour and half each month outside of the regular dinner meeting.
Below is a description of the open positions that are available and a rough idea of the time commitment:
Vice President: Attends the BOD meeting monthly, engages with board and members in regards to direction of ISM-CB. (This position is really a two year commitment as the vice president will assume the affiliate presidency at the end of the term)
Secretary: We do have an existing candidate for this position.
Treasurer: This position will require some time with our existing Treasurer, who has agreed to stay on to train someone over the next several months, so that the incoming individual understands the process. This is a very critical position in not only keeping the affiliate in compliance with reporting, but a great opportunity for somebody to add to their resume.
Director: Attends the monthly BOD meetings and participates in setting the direction of the affiliate. The Board of Directors may be responsible for special assignments or tasks as requested by the President or Vice President.
If you have a desire to participate, but can’t commit to a regular time schedule, please let us know and we can accommodate you and help you build on your career goals and objectives.
The General Business meeting and Election of Officers for the 2016-’17 fiscal year will be held the evening of June 14, 2016 with an initial planning meeting immediately following. If you have an interest in participating in any of the positions above please respond with your request in writing to Todd Johnson (email@example.com ) by no later than May 17.

opportunities for individuals in this profession. Sid is the
founder of the Oregon Mid-Valley Purchasing & Supply Management
Association (OMV), as well as a founder of NPEC. Our
organization established the Sid A. Brown
Upon the closing of the OMV affiliate, the Board and members of
OMV established an endowment at Chemeketa Community College
which was set up in Sid’s name. This endowment will perpetually
offer scholarships to qualified students committed to pursuing
their education in our profession.
Sid shared; “To be associated with this scholarship is a great personal honor for me and it certainly allows my original vision for supporting ongoing education in this great profession to continue. I would really like to thank everyone I’ve met and worked with over the last 35 years. Since I’ve had so much help along the way, I’ve been trying to thank everyone who has supported me on this journey. I just hope they all understand how grateful I am to all of them!!!”
